The Woodford County Health Department officially opened its doors in July 1955, the last county in Kentucky to create a local health department. Initially the agency was staffed with a nurse and local physicians assisting as needed. A sanitary officer was added to the staff in October of 1955. The health department's original office was in the Court House. It moved to its current location at 229 North Main Street on October 27th 1991 and has added new office areas and a conference room since that date. |
The Woodford County Health Department currently has 22 staff members. These 22 employees include Administration, Medical, Clerical, Community, and Environmental personnel.
